John Tuggle, the running back selected with the very last pick of the 1983 NFL Draft who became the first Mr. Irrelevant in NFL history to make his team’s roster, on the sentence he spoke to Bill Parcells in the summer of 1986 — the words that turned the final meeting of a life cut short by cancer at 25 into a lesson in gratitude, grace and letting go, as his Wikipedia page, which usually drew only a few hundred views a day, surged past 334,000 in a single September morning after the trailer for the biopic Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story arrived.
